rossi single shot rifles

I saw a clearence on one of the Rossi 22-250 varmint rifles with the heavy barrel with scope included for $186. at Dicks Sporting Goods.

Are these rifles worth the money for some occasional fun shooting varmits?

Any members own one?

  My two eldest kids just received their hunter safety certificates. I am looking for an inexpensive rifle for both small game hunting and/or deer hunting. The Rossi matched sets seem to be the ticket, especially for the price, but I have heard a lot of negative recently. Any opinions?

  If your looking for a one hole tack driver, a well balanced and fitted firearm, or a great looking show gun, forget the Rossi. If your looking for a functional single shot firearm with acceptable accuracy, they are worth what they cost. Great for keeping in the truck to dispatch the occational varmints and a good starter gun for youngsters. And as a bonus, once in a while you get one that will shoot exceptionaly well..........
