Which AR 15 to buy.
My dept is giving us the option to buy our own rifles tocarry on duty. The advantage is they will run us through a qualification course and provide all the ammo used in training. We can buy any brand with a 16 or 20 inch barrel. Any suggestions?

There are several good makers of AR's. Armalite, DPMS, Colt.
I would choose the 16" barrel as it is easier to deploy in and out of a car, but does not loose much in velocity.
At the ranges you would likely deploy it the 16" would work fine.
My dept has had a patrol rifle program for a couple years now, and it has been a success. Now the rifles will be in the field where they are needed, when they are needed.0 -

Post a query about anyone ever having a problem with a bushmaster and you will probably get no replies, bushmaster is definatly the class of the field, with the over-priced armalite in second, go to http://www.bushmaster.com and check it out for yourself, good luck... 0 -
Overpriced Armalite ????.....The fit and finish on the Armalite will usually be better IMHO....and I own both

If it's not a Colt, it's just copy. The Bushmasters do look good. 0 -
