Rem. 700 BDL vs Rem 700 PSS

I have not done any homework on it, but Any Real differance between the two of them? or has the PSS just been tweeked a little more? Ie trigger, barrell etc.

  The PSS has a heavy weight barrel, synthetic tactical stock, dual swivel studs (for a bipod), and comes in the popular military/long range calibers (308, 300wm etc.) All this is at the cost of more weight and a higher price. The BDL (i assume you meant BDL and not BBL?) is Remingtons bread and butter hunting rifle, with a standard sporter weight barrel, lighter wood or synthetic hunting stock, and is available in a wider array of calibers.
  
  For long range, precision shooting, or a tactical rifle, go with the PSS. For hunting i would choose the BDL, and if you are wanting to custom build a rifle (or have one built for you) the BDL is a good place to start. Hope this helps

  cwinn- opps Bdl Typo on my part. I would like to get one for hunting in .308 I do have a Rem 40x but could do without the extra wieght but would like the extra accuracy in a heavy barrel gun like the PSS or the BDL. All the extras like the swivle mount etc. I can add myself.

  for most general hunting (short range, fast action) you will never notice any accuracy difference between the two models. if your hunting involves long range shooting if would take the pss otherwise go with the bdl

  Don't forget the model in between the BDL and the PSS... The Sendero is a heavy-barreled version and is also available in varmit calibers as the V series (VS, VLS, VSSF)

  The big difference is price. The BDL in the basic walnut stock is a nice gun and you can find them at good prices. They are not fancy but from what I have seen, they are very accurate and funtional. I wanted fancy so I bought a BDL LSS model (if looks could kill)in a 7mmRUM.

  Big difference in performance. The PSS has the HS Precision stock which is epoxy,graphite, and kevlar with an integral aluminum bedding block. The BDL is just a wood stock. The BDL, if placed in the PSS stock, would shoot better than in it's original stock. The PSS stock is a $290 stock by itself (wholesale) remington thinks its worth $400[V] Also, the heavy barrel on the PSS will control the harmonics much better than the BDL pencil barrel. If you want "dead nuts" accuracy there is no comparison. But, if you want the best out of the box hunting rifle, for the money, in a lighter weight, buy the BDL.
  
  Each one has it's uses,..be sure you match your needs with their purposes. No need to carry a heavy barreled rifle to a deer stand in the woods to make a 50yd shot,...just as there is no need to shoot 500yds with a factory pencil barrel.
  
  why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
