Measuring Groups

I would like to know how to correctly measure target groups at 100 yards. I am curious to see how my shooting compares to others.

  I always wondered. When measuring groups on a target, do you measure from center to center or edge to edge?-Marcus

  If the group is one ragged hole, measure the widest part, and subtract the bullet diameter.
  
  If the group has holes that are seperated, measure the outside to outside edge, at the widest point, of the two farthest apart holes, and subtract bullet diameter.
  
  why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

  I usually just measure from the outside of the widest points and thats my group. That way if there's one hole, just measure the widest part of the one hole. I don't know about subtracting your bullet dia. I think thats cheating... hahaha, just kidding, its not cheating, just another way of doing it, thats all.

  JustC does it that way for good reason. The standard is to measure from the center of holes, which is really hard to do accuratly every time. Thus, measuring from the outter edges, which are easy to define and subtracting bullet diameter gives a more precise center to center measurement.

  Here is how I do it with no math involved. Simply mesure outside Dia.
  of your farthest hole(if you wish to include flyers)to the inside edge
  I gave ya a pic below for simplicity, This will work for any size hole
  if you don't know the dia. This will give you exact center to center.
