Value of 1830 Springfield musket?

Does anyone know the value of an 1830's Springfield musket (at least I think its a musket, since I don't know the difference between a musket and a flintlock!). It is in very good condition, has the ramrod, and a bayonet (although I don't know if the bayonet is the original one with the rifle, or one that was "added"). Bayonet is marked US EH. There is pitting on all the metal, however, no rust, and the hammer works easily. The wood appears in good condition. It also has the "hooks" where a strap might have been. Obviously, I don't know much about guns, and that is why I'm asking your help! Thanking you in advance!

  Welcome to the FORUMS:......I'm going to be presumptive and assume that the MUSKET You have is Stamped on the Lock Plate with the Date 1835...Most of these muskets were converted from Flintlock to Percussion in this period, and were the primary weapon of the Mexican war...The conversion was carried out by removing the PAN, FRIZZEN SPRING and HAMMER, and then SCREWING a NIPPLE into the Barrel and Replacing the Hammer with a Percussion Hammer..making it a Percussion Gun...In "Very Good".. Condition these Old Muskets are selling from $2500.00 and Up....To be able to put TRUE a value upon Your Springfield...It would be necessary to have a Hands On Appraisal...I'm sure that if you look thru the Dallas...
