Barrel twist

Picked up a single shot Kennedy custom High Wall in 25-06 cal with a 1"dia crowned 26"L barrel with a 1:12 TWIST. What weight bullet will give me .500 moa at 200yds?--300yds?

  I have a Savage 10FP .308 with a 24 inch barrel,excellent rifle shoots 3/4 inch groups at 200 yards. But after the barrel warms up during a match the cross hairs start to turn to the left. At first I thought it was the scope but after changing scopes three times I now believe it is the rifle.
  Has anyone else had this problem and if so how can I correct it?

  I would guess a 75-95gr but that would only be a shot in the dark (no punn intended)
  
  why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

  Thanks justC, but 75-95gr is a big spread. Where is GHD you mentioned?
  On one of the threads I read that 40-52gr for a 1:12 twist, a 50-62gr for a 1:9 twist and 67-80 for a 1:7 twist. That 40-52gr does not sound right.
  Forgot to mention that a Unertl 24X target scope mounted on rifle.

  Proof is in the shooting. As was pointed out, this twist is for lighter bullets. you'll need to get a few different well made target bullets and just start working up a load. Individual guns like differnt recipes. 1" groups at 200 yards is a pretty tall order, (but doable) 1.5" at 300 is even taller with a light bullet (external variables).

  The bullets that you mention in your second post are .22 caliber and have nothing to do with .25 caliber.
  
  brayhaven is correct in that you have to shoot to find what is most accurate in your rifle. There are certain generalities that you can lean on but for the most part it is shooting and testing.
  
  The bullet weights suited for the .25 caliber 12" twist are 60 to 90 grains. Jef Fowler makes a very accurate 85 grain grain bullet in 25 caliber. Check on some of the accuracy sites for custom bullet makers and see what they have to offer. But don't forget that even Nosler Ballistic Tips have proven to be very accurate under certain circumstances.
  
  Lastly, High Walls have their own set of rules when it comes to accuracy. Where you rest the barrel on the bags, thumb pressure, cheek pressure, on and on. They are not the same as bolt rifles when it comes to handling. Again, it comes down to shooting and testing.
  
  I don't think that we're trying to be hard on you, it's just that you are going to have to do the work yourself as we can't tell you exactly what is going to be that accurate.

  NONONSENSE fits you to a tee. The info you provided me make the most SENSE. Your right about the .22cal stats. That was from a .223 thread.
  I'll let you know how the different weight 60-90gr bullets shoot.
