Any Gunsmiths In Wisconsin ??????
Anyone know of some gunsmiths in Wisconsin that can install barrels on bolt actions and cut chamber to customers Specs ?????

With the limited amount of responses, I would suggest a couple of things for you to consider.
Specify what geographical area of Wisconsin you are interested in then maybe someone can help. If you just want someone to run a list for you, I doubt that that's going to happen.
Do a web search. I just did one and came up with a service that will search and do a list for your wants. www.shooting-hunting.com
Call Badger Barrels (Bristol, WI.) and ask for recommendations for gunsmiths. Ernie or one of his staff will surely know a few. www.badgerbarrelsinc.com
The phrase "cut chamber to customer's specs, probably throws most people off. Generally, most competent gunsmiths can cut the body of the chamber then cut the neck and throat for specifics or just cut the throat for a specific bullet. But if you are looking for something truly unique, you may have to help the gunsmith develop a drawing and have a custom reamer made. This will take some time and will cost extra.

Hey, I walked from the Fairgrounds to that shop (Shooters Shop)last year (anyone from Milwaukee or West Allis will tell you that method was a poor choice of getting the 80 some-odd blocks!). Worth the trip, and a nice bunch of people...they were helpful AND pleasant even though I reside south of the Cheese curtain! If you are looking for really great barrels, however, check with Mr. Obermayer (sp?) as he is producing (still, after all these years)some of the best barrels in the world these days.

There's a gunsmith up in Solon Springs that is supposed to be pretty good at everything. I've heard of him a few times and each person said he's the best.
Sorry no more info. than that, but if you live in the north or NW part of state, search him out.
