Colt Army?
A older gentleman I know gave me a box full of pistols to sell for him as he was going to a rest home. One of the pistols is a old Colt in rough shape and missing a couple of parts with a patent date of Sept. 10th 1855, it has a brass trigger guard and possible some usable parts for someone but I know nothing about these old Colts and I'm not sure what model it is or how would be the best way to sell it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can email pictures if anyone would be willing to help.

Always glad to try to help, so send pictures. It sounds like you have a Colt model 1855 sidehammer pocket pistol. They were made from 1855 to 1870 and in both .28 as well as .31 caliber. I will be looking forward to seeing the photos and then can tell you more about what you have.
