Thomas parker shotgun
I recently purchased a 12 guage double barrel shotgun. It has thomas parker written on the receiver. Does anyone know anything about this gun?

Might... The 'Thomas Parker' shotguns were made in Belgium in the early 1890's by the gunmaker Henri Pieper. Most of the shotguns produced under various trade-names were imported by Cornwall & Jesperson of New York.
The Pieper firm remained in business until well into the early 1900's, although it had changed hands within the family twice by that time.
There is some speculation, with merit, that the tradename 'Thomas Parker' was coined to deliberately confuse unsophisticated American buyers (read: slackjawed yokels) into thinking they were purchasing a Parker shotgun. I'm sure the name recognition did help with sales.
These Belgian trade-name guns are not worth much - primarily as decorator items. They certainly should NOT be shot with any type of modern ammunition. A few of us more eclectic types actually collect these curiosities for catalogueing and research.

I have a book with these shotguns in it but I need more info. There are trojan,vh,vhe,ph,dh,ch,bh models and all are a little different. There are also reproduction Parkers available. I do not know about these guns except for what is listed in my book. I do not see a Thomas Parker in my book.

Case in point. The shotguns this young man are referring to are the Parker Brothers shotguns made in America. Definitely NOT the Belgian-made 'Thomas Parker' shotgun you have.
