I'm applying for a Curios & Relics License. Do many of the sellers ship to C&R license holders for guns more than 50 years old?

Is8, welcome to Gun Broker. Following the letter of the law there is no reason for a seller not to ship a C&R classified firearm (50 years old or on the C&R list) directly to you- depending on your state regulations. On the other hand I have continued to read posts in these forums in which buyers claim that sellers have rufused to honor the C&R and will insist that all firearms be shipped to a third party FFL dealer. I recommend that you simply contact the seller ahead of time to insure that he will accept your C&R and if he refuses simply move on. Remember, you cannot force a person to ship you a firearm (we had a few people try to push this issue and they failed). Get your C&R and just be sure to check out the sellers rules before you get started. Once you send the seller the money and he says that he won't accept your C&R you are in for a long up hill battle in which most folks lose and end up having their new purchase shipped to an FFL dealer- which means fees and the resulting paperwork.

I've never had a problem with a seller shipping to my C&R, but then I don't buy a lot. Mark is right on the money with his advice,{but then I don't recall seeing anything from him that wasn't correct, wise, and straight arrow. He's a good one to pay attention to from what I have seen.} It's been my finding that good communication is one of the keys to avoiding problems of GB. Good luck and enjoy! 0
