Why isnt the Glock 22 very popular, there are lots of bids for other Glocks, but almost none with the Glock 22, is something wrong with it?

The 357 sig barrel will work in the 22 as I put one in mine, But the 357 sig will have more recoil than the 40 S&W. It is a hotter round. I don't know about the 9mm as the case head is smaller than the 40 S&W. The 357 Sig will work fine with the 40 S&W magazine. I know several women that shoot the Glock 22 without problems.

Most companies that manufacture match grade barrels have a "9mm and 357sig Conversion barrels" available.
Such manufacturers are KKM, EFK Firedragon, Barsto, and others.
To use the 9mm conversion barrel, all you need do is get a 9mm magazine for your receiver which in your case would be the same as G17.
To use the 357sig conversion barrel, you simply utilize the 40S&W magazine that came with your pistol.
No other changes are required for target practice. If you wish to use it for SD, then the proper extractor and ejector are needed.

Also if your worried about recoil, Advantage Arms manufactures a .22lr kit for your pistol as well.

I have a G22, and find it very easy to control for a 40sw. Felt recoil isn't too bad. Don't underestimate what your girl can handle, just give her the gun and let her try it. That's what I did with my better half, she actually found it comfortable to shoot compared to her .380.[;)]

I bought my girl a g19 (9mm) and spent more $ on an EFK barrel, dual action guide rod and an M3 light for additional weight. It has helped the recoil, but she still doesn't like shooting it on a daily basis. I now got her an AMT II (.22 mag auto) and she loves it. Sounds bigger than a 9mm, but has the recoil of a .32 ACP.[8]

Glock 22 is good gun,I got the Advantage Arms 22lr adapter for mine, and it is very accurate outfit. Let the girl shoot it in .22lr first for a while, then put it back to .40 S&W, she'll shoot it just fine.
