  Boy, that is a blast from the past. I started with 5066 loading 38 spl with a Lee Loader and a hammer 40 years ago. You have found some pretty old powder. It has not been made in about 35 years. It was on the way out when I started reloading. I checked some of my old Shooter's Bibles and it was in my 1965 issue, but was deleted from the 1969 issue. It was $1.60 for an 8 oz can back then.

  Pearyw,
  P 5066 was introduced mid 1947 and is younger than I am. Can anything that young can be considered old? I forget.

  Pearyw-Unbelieveable! Same with me! My first reloads were .38 Special from a Lee Loader, loaded with 5066. Still have the loader--the 5066 is long gone. That was......'64 or '65.
  
  Say, Grady, what do you need to know? What cartridge are you loading? Bullet weight? You've got to be a little more specific. I'd take a close look at that powder before I used it. If it's getting brown looking and has an acrid smell I'd dump it. It's got to be pretty old stuff.

  Grady indicated a 150 gr. bullet by off-forum e-mail. From the "Lyman Reloading Handbook, 43rd Edition"(1964), pg. 145: 150 gr. #358156 H.P. (this is a cast lead hollow point) 5066 sug. grs. 3.5, vel. 710; sug. max. grs. 4.6, vel. 880.
