whats it worth???
Trying to sell my Savage Model 12 in .308 win, blued, black synthetic stock, accu-trigger, heavy free floating 26" barrel, bushnell 5-15x 3200 elite series scope,and adjustable bipods(dont remember the maker but might be harris they were around $80). Ive only put 20 rounds through it so its like new condition. Trying to figure out an asking price. If anybody could throw some quotes my way that would be awesome thanks!

I have a 1970 257 weatherby mag. in mint condition but don't know what it is worth can someone help me....also I have a uberti 1875 army 45 cal. with the stock on it it looks older any ideas...thanks,Jeff jmaynard@novocon.net 0 -
The Uberti would retail in the $400 range if it were new in the box. I believe that these were discontinued in 1990 so they have not been around for quite a few years. I am not current enough on Weatherby prices to give any kind of accurate estimate on your rifles value.

German Weatherbys have a collector following, but the big money is in anything other than .257, 7mm, .270 or .300. These calibers are the most often seen, and genrally pull $900-$1000 tops at retail in the standard Mark V. Exceptional wood or any special order features will bump the price a bit.
Mark V's in .224 or the larger calibers jump to $1500 pretty quickly.

CountryGunsmith: Thanks for the info on collectable Weayherbys. The Weatherby in 224 was called the "Varmit Master". It was made with a different sized receiver than the Mark V. My Dad left one to me. He kept meticulous records on all his guns including the sales slips. He paid $314 for it in 1976 which included a 20% discount. As you can imagine it has a lot of nostalgic value to me and wont ever be for sale. I must admit that the wood,polish and blueing are beautiful. The accuracy is about the same as any high end 223 bolt action...Hondo 0
