Win Mod 43 .218 Bee Value
Just acquired a Model 43 Winchester in .218 Bee caliber. I would call it NIB except there is no box. I have the original box of shells purchased with the gun and ONLY 2 have been fired. The S/N is 27092A. IT IS PERFECT IN EVERY WAY. It also has an old 6X Weaver scope on it. What would be a fair "RESERVE" to start with in GunBroker? How old do you think it is? WHat would be a "FAIR" (to both buyer and seller) final price? Your expert help is appreciated in advance. [?][?][?]THANKS!

You didn't say if it's a deluxe model with checkering or the standard model. Deluxe usually brings $100 more than standard.
You ask some tough questions here.
A "fair reserve" and "fair selling price" can't be accurately answered. Only you know the price you'd be satsfied with when you put it up. A fair price to one buyer may be exorbitant to another. Too high a reserve makes bidders mad. Too high a starting price usually gets no bids.
Check the running auctions to verify this.
These 43's are selling pretty high now. I'll bet you could start it at $100 and get 6 bids the first day. My guess is that in the shape you describe it'll bring $650 to $800.
Don't be afraid to start it reasonably and let the bidders set the value. One seller I know lists machine tools at $.01 with no reserve and gets $16,000 to $38,000 and more with no regrets.0
