Rem 1100 problem
Was cleaning my new 1100 the other day, with the barrel removed, and accidently hit the bolt return. After the bolt slammed shut I was unable to open it. Plan on breaking it down (first time) to try and discover the problem. As this is my first semi-auto any helpful hints would be appreciated.

WHEN THE BOLT WENT FORWARD THE REAR ROD CAME OUT OF THE "HOLE" IN THE BACK OFF THE ACTION. THIS WILL KEEP THE BOLT FROM SLIDING REARWARD. SOME TIMES IF YOU ARE LUCKY YOU CAN REALINE THE ROD WITH A SCREW DRIVER THRU THE SLOTS ON THE SIDEOF THE RECIEVER. IF NOT YOU MUST TAKE OUT THE TRIGGER. NO BIG PROBLEM JUST TAKES A LITTLE TIME. GOOD LUCK, JOHN

You are not the first (nor will you be the last) to do this... Duckhunter's advice should have you fixed up.
