Glock 19c
hey all, anyone have any thoughts on the glock 19c vs. the regular glock 19? 9mm recoil doesnt bother me or anything, but since their the same price..... any thoughts?

The comped model will probably have a little less muzzle whip, but like you said the recoil for both models is the same.
If you plan to shoot competition with the Glock, I would get the non-comped gun.
The guns with comped barrels usually have to shoot in the open class with the "Race guns". If you have the non-comped gun you can stay in the "limited" class.
Just my thoughts.0 -
The glock 19 has little recoil as it is...if it doesnt bother you much, I would go with the non-comped gun.

I bought one for my wife to introduce her to shooting a larger pistol than a 22. She has since graduated to a Sig 239 in 40. I credit the Glock 19c ( which I usually conceal carry with now) as a great gun to start with for a beginning shooter. My 16 year old daughter is next to learn with it. Though she wants to start with the 220!! One thing though make sure you have good ear protection, I can't believe how much louder this 9mm becomes when compensated. Dandy[:D][:D] 0 -
I bought a G19 about 8 years ago (pre-ban[:p]) and it is not ported. Light recoil, and no MUZZLE FLASH AT NIGHT to worsen the chance of a clear follow-up shot or 2 or 3 or 16>
AS WELL AS THE EXTRA TIME AND PAIN TO CLEAN THE PORTS.
Just be sure to spend the extra effort on TRIJICONS !!! I have 7 Glocks, 19, (2)21's, 22, 26, 27 ,30... all are non-ported and all with TRIJICONS!!!

I bought my girl a 19 and the recoil was too much for her. I added an aftermarket ported barrel, a dual action g-rod and an M3 light (yes every little bit helps). With all three modifications I can tell that the recoil was greatly reduced, thus being able to squeeze as fast as possible and still put all 10 rounds on the paper from 10 yards. i prefer shooting the gun WITH the ported barrel.
