Buying over the web

I think there's a tax problem. Because the receiving agent would then be the seller and have to charge sales tax.

Bid on a reputable sellers item, and use US Postal service to send your money and request the seller ship via Priority.
If the item received is misrepresented or not received the seller can be charged under US felony laws as Mail Fraud.

No offense meant sir, BUT you are legally obligated to ship any firearm manufactured after 1898 through a FFL holder. It's not optional.
As far as escrow is concerned most FFL holders, don't want anything to do with that!
Unless you have somebody lined up to do the escrow that is agreeable to both you and the seller, your wasting your time!

According to GB's shipping guide information (http://www.gunbroker.com/user/ShippingGuide.asp) it is mandatory that the RECEIVING party is a FFL. The SENDER can be a non-FFL. I believe that some states require that the sending party go through an FFL. This issue seems to cause a lot of confusion. Obviously it is safest to use an FFL on both ends but it is not mandatory. In any case, the sender must have a signed copy of the receiver's FFL and declare the item to be a firearm with the shipping agent.

OKay, so what's the Point? Escrow agents......or is it Shipping? Or Is It the desire to "Do-It-My-Way" or what? There are regulations that regulate the regulations for conforming to the Laws which are made to enforce the original laws when dealing with firearms. Sellers here have little problems in general to sell their guns......and most Buyers seem to do all right too! How would you like to change this for everyone's benefit? ...........????

bcooper: Aint nothing sure in this life but death. First, go to
the sellers feedback. After that just make up your mind if you
wish to chance it. Most all are pretty honest. His feedback is
a good indication of what buyers think.
