AMT .380 Back up

A deal came my way from an old friend and I picked up a Amt .380 backup. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of this pistol and are they hard to take down? Any help and or comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

  I have one as a pocket gun. The trigger pull is long and heavy (12lbs.). It doesn't like to be fed hollow points but is nice for throwing it in my pocket and forgetting about it.

  thanks matt & mjgcarpenter. The trigger pull is real light on this one ( feels like 5-6 pounds). I am going to test it Saturday but will probably be just feeding it hardball to start out with.

  I like mine, but it's a SOB to strip. You have to drive out a roll pin in the slide to remove it. I've found that mine likes Eldorado Starfire hollowpoints, they're the only ones that feed reliably in it.

  there were both single action and DAO versions of this pistol; sounds like you have the origial SA model. They are well made and very durable. Have had one for almost 20 years with no problems other than the plastic grips cracking. Will feed and fire anything offered.
  No real need to remove the breechblock for routine cleaning.

  You are right j2k22. It is the single action. I would have passed it by but the trigger pull seemed very nice for a little inexpensive pistol. We will see if my hunch is right Saturday. If it works out I plan to use it as a ankle gun or in my small in the jacket holster. By the way any carry recomendations?

  My concealed carry recommendations would be to either carry in a "wallet" holster or just slip it in your front pocket. Simpler is gooder!

  no, don't keep one chambered; seems a bit risky. Just rack the slide if danger looms. Wallet holsters are good, so are IWB rigs.
  Since I bought a Smith 340 SC .357, the AMT doesn't get carried any more. Anyone want to trade for it?
