pre or post ban hk93 by #'s

I recently recieved a beautiful hk93 when a relative passed. The serial #is 42-136941. Can anyone verify if this is pre-ban, or does the ban apply to this rifle. It has the original solid stock and a 20 round clip. Please e-mail me direct at lost@terranova.net if you need more info. Thanks!

  For all intents and purposes there are no post ban HK-93 rifles. These HK series rifles were prohibited from importation by the 1989 Bush (Pappa Bush) ban on imported semi automatic rifles with military features. There were small nimbers of these rifles available for sale after the 1989 ban to law enforcement agencies, but these are pretty scarce and I doubt your rifle would be one of these. Some where on the magazine housing of your rifle there should be a stamp with two letters (like IH). If you can find those letters I can identify the date your rifle was made.
