Ruger P944 vs Ruger P95
Ok fellows, here is another range debate to be settled by the you the "Experts". I was shooting my P95 next to a fellow shooting a P944 this weekend who insisted that the slide/barrel assemblies and magazines are interchangable between the two guns. I know the .40 cal mags will work in the 9mm P95 so that sparked the curiosity to his assertion.............was not going to let him trade components to prove it so I am asking the question here to settle the debate:
Can the P944 and the P95 polymer frame Ruger pistols accept each others components such as slide/barrel and magazines to function and fire?
Just very curious if this is fact. Thanks.

I don't know exactly, but I'll give you some common knoweldge and maybe it will help you.
Alot of guns may have parts that are interchangeable, such as springs, rods, levers, sights, etc. But alot of guns also have parts that are required to be fitted to certain tolerances. And even though they my physically fit together, they might not meet those tolerances, and bad things can occur when those tolerances are not met. Things such as barrel to slide fits, bushing fits, barrel link fits.
So even if they do swap out, things might just not line up correctly. And even so, your gun was assembled at the factory, and they know what they are doing when they assemble it. I wouldn't let some guy at the range tell you how to put anything on or anything off your gun unless he either had a ruger armorers certificate, was Bill Ruger himself, or was a darn competent gunsmith.0 -
Thanks Leeblackman, this local range seems to have an overabundance of retired know-it-all about everything experts. This boy definitely does not switch over components.

Very good advice,I agree 100%.But yes they will interchange, and an 11RD .40 cal mag will hold 15RDS of 9mm ammo. The Mag may fit much looser, but will interchange.HTH
Best!!
