NIKKO
Hi, I would like to get some of your opinions on a shotgun I have. It is a Nikko Model 5200, which I have not been able to find in the blue book of gun values, that my father left me when he passed. It is 12 guage, blued barrels that measure 27" from the back of the receiver. The receiver is stainless with engraving on the sides bottom and top. It has a stainless engraved trigger guard with a gold trigger. It has a vent rib with two beads and venting between the barrels as well.The stock appears to be walnut with checkered forearm as well as the grip section (not english style stock). Stamped on the barrel is as follows. NIkkO Model 5200 12 guage-2 3/4" Kanematsu-gosho U.S.A. Inc. Arlington Hts. Ill. On the other side of the barrel it says Made In Japan. My father had a Pachmayr kick pad installed on it as well as Briley choke tubes. Thanks in advance for any help as far as value and any other info you may have about the Nikko.

My book said that the Nikko shotgun you have, was produced for Kanematsu Gosho circa 1974/1982.
This was during the time that Winchester was in partnership with Nikko.
Nikko utilized many other U S distributors during the same time frame. Nikko produced longguns for export from (mid 60's, late 80's).
Many were very similar, other then minor cosmetic changes.
Get hold of a recent vintage B B, Fjestad lists a lot of the distributors, you would probably would be able to value your shotgun that way.0 -
Well, I know that Golden Eagle had at one time taken over the Nikko line and have had a few different people tell me that Charles Daly had been involved with them at some point, but I've never heard the Winchester story. These guns sure get around I guess.
