Baikal target 22
Upon my first trip the range with my new Baikal target 22 pistol I experianced what could best be called "slam fires" or fully automatic fireing. This happen every time I tried to fire Federal Gold Medal match ammo. It did not happen with Remington gloden bullets or Wolf target ammo. Has this happened before with this type of gun or this ammo in semo autos? I have fired this ammo in bolt actions only before this.
Any ideas?

The ammo is too light for your pistol. Sounds like your pistol just doesn't like the ammo. Target .22 ammo is loaded lighter than regular .22 ammo. A guy I used to shoot with had a semi'd 9mm Uzi. It would rock and roll with light hand loaded cast bullets. One good thing is that Russian firearms always work. They ain't pretty but they do work.
Didn't know they were selling Baikal pistols too. Their shotguns are well known here in Canada.0
