DELETE - Information on 480 Ruger Ballistics

None of my reference books contain any ballistics information on the 480 Ruger. (Muzzle velocity and energy , Downrange velocity and energy data including bullet drop). I know that the cartridge is fairly new and that's probably why none of my books even mention it. Also do you know what company manufactures and markets the 480 Ruger Cartridges? My Taurus Revolver has an 8 3/8" barrel so please let me know what length barrel the ballistics info is based on.

  1325 FPS for the factory 325 grain load. I load mine with cast bullets that weigh from 310 grains all the way up to 460 grains. As far as FPE goes, it has never been a factor as to why or why not to buy a cartridge. I am a firm believer in weight and diameter over FPE.

  basically, the .480 ruger is a .475 linebaugh "special"
  with greater power than the .44 mag, but less pressure and recoil than the .475 linebaugh or .454 casull.
  sample load specifics:
  
  hornady 325 gr. xtp mag/1329 fps/1276 fp energy/26.2 fp recoil
  **7.5 in. barrel/25 yrds.
  
  there is an excellent article on the .480 in the feb. 2001
  american rifleman mag.

  I read somewhere that Winchester will or already has come out with a lever action rifle for the 480 Ruger. Let me know if you know anything about it and if its true or not.
