25-20 load data???
Can anyone give me a good recipe for the 25-20 with a 86 gr. jacketed bullet. The old rifle is an absolute tack driver with vintage winchester factory loads.I would like to try and duplicate them.

old single shots:
I'm going to assume you asking about a 25/20 w.c.f.,and not the 25/20 single shot.My old ideal handbook [#38,1951]lists 3 loads for the 86gr.jacketed bullet.
7.5gr.#4759 powder at 1425fps.
8.7gr.#4227 powder at 1410fps.
10 gr.#4759 powder at 1620fps.
Gun or barrel not listed.
25/20 wcf was the first caliber I reloaded for in 1950,think I just dated myself!
I had a winchester model 53,shot only 60gr.hp with #2400 powder.
Wonder if #4759 is still made?0 -
O.S.S. Lyman's 47th edition reloading Manual gives this data for the 86 gr. jacketed S.P.
Starting Vel. MAX. Vel.

Hope this helps.
If you are still interested in the 32-20 ammo, the answer to your last question is yes.
