hi again,
i also have a smith an wesson 38 speacial. i think its the "patrolman." i do know that law inforcemeant used to use this model. it is in good condition and was wondering the price of it.

  If your gun says "patrolman" on it, then it is probably the S&W model 28 "Highway Patrolman".
  This gun was built on the large "N" frame and shoots .357 magnum and .38 special. It was built specifically for law enf.
  It is a less expensive version of the model 27.
  I have 2 model 28's, a 4", and a 6". They are very strong and well built guns.
  In excellent cond it is worth about 350 to 400 bucks, maybe more to a collector.
