Could some one tell me what an H&R 1873 45-70 officer's model is?

  Made as a commerative in the mid-1970's to capitalize on the 100th Anniversary of the Indian Wars. Though made of modern steel it should not be loaded to pressures associated with the 1886 Winchester loads in that caliber. Most factory 405 grain bullet loads are plenty safe to fire in the H&R. If it is unfired it may have some specialty collector appeal otherwise it's just a really really nice .45-70 carbine that you can shoot to your heart's content. Beach
