10-22 scope base

I ordered a ruger 10-22 with a target barrel today. is the scope base
that comes with it a 3/8 wide 22 mount base or 7/8 wide base.
if it is the 3/8 should i get a 7/8 base or is the 3/8 base ok?
I have a 4-12x40mm scope A/O

  I'm sure it's the smaller of the 2. These are made for the wimpy "rimfire" scopes, and are of little value for serious target use. Get a base for the 30mm or 1" tubes. There are some great discussions and links at rimfirecentral.com. Check them out

  I have the same need.
  Was wondering who makes a quality Weaver style base (are they 7/8 or 1")for a 10/22.
  Whatever I need for installing a Bushnell Holo-Sight is what I'm looking for.

  Hi guys,
  Take a look at Brownell's. You will find all types of bases for the 10-22. I used a one piece alloy base for mine and wound up cutting it in half to allow for the correct ring spacing on the scope. Both 1 and 2 piece mounts are listed in the catalog. I could have saved myself some grief if I had looked sooner.

  I got my 10/22 mounts at wall mart,, two rings, that fit the four screw holes in the receiver, 1 inch rings, tall maounts so I can either use the iron sights, or the scope..
