Once you apply for a C&R license, how long does it take to get one.

  Are the c&r license worth the cost and time to get if one just buys or trades a old gun 4-5 times a year? Also how often do you have to renew them? Thanks

  Those fellows with the bulge in the cheap suit aren't necessarily the sharpest tools in the shed. Remember when you originally got your C&R, they included a large pile of yellow forms (Form 4473) that only dealers use?
  
  Just write "Not applicable" in any block that you think is, well, not applicable.

  I wrote 'not applicable' in mine also. Sent it in 3 or 4 weeks ago. I've emailed them 3 or 4 times at nlc@atla.atf.treas.gov and have gotten nothing. I've called the NLC (National Licensing Center) Hotline at 404-417-2750 and they always transfer me to their 'Northern California REpresentative' whom is never in her office. I've left messages for her and nothing back.
  
  It took 8 months to get my Curio License and I expect another 8 to get in updated. By that time I will be moved again due to being in the military and will have to wait another 8 months.....But I'm saving money and will vent my frustration on one big order one day.

  You won't believe this crap, just opened my mail and low and behold....my ATF Form 5300.38 (Application for an Amended License) was sent back.
  
  They sent me ATF Form 5300.38 (4-96) which had an address of PO box 2994, Atlanta Georgia 30301 for the form to go to.
  
  Well after I just looked at their website for the form they have a different address and form to use.
  
  You need ATF Form 5300.38 (10-96) with an address of:
  National Licensing Center
  2600 Century Parkway NE
  Atlanta, Georgia 30345
  
  It's on the ATF's website.
  
  Man I'm not a happy camper.

  Hey, if it was easy to do; every gun nut would have one and we wouldn't NEED the EATF setting gun owners up for noncompliance busts.
