Smith & Wesson Gun Value

I have what I think is an old 22 short revolver. It is a six sided barrel. The top of the barrel has Smith & Wesson, Smithfield, Mass. It is a 7 shot. On the cylinder it has Patented April 3,1855, July 5, 1859 & Dec 18, 1863. The serial nnumber is 277xx. I am just lookiong for a ballpark figure. It was given to my brother and me by my father. Thanks for your help.

  It appears that you have a S & W "Model No. 1 Second Issue Revolver". Over 100,000 of this particular model were made by S & W, during and after the Civil War, circa 1860/68.
  The value is determined by collector demand and the amount of factory original condition remaining.
  Since you havn't given us any indication of the condition of the revolver it's hard to put a value on it?
  The current B B has a range of $500 to $1000 for ORIGINAL CONDITION Second Issues in good to excellent condition respectively.
