I don't have one, but I sold a few when I was a dealer. Seems to me as I remember they fold in half and are about20 or 22 inches folded. Couldn't be less than 18 and a half, or it wouldnt be leagel.

Ruger, they made a stainless version. They are accurate little guns. 22 hornet over a .410. I think they are a backbackers dream.

    Ruger:

Not familiar with the Scout but I have two Savage M24Cs Break down very short; if you can find the original case it is designed for horse or backpacking. .22 or .22 Mag over 20 ga.

    RugerNiner,
I just got my little Scout M6 out of the safe and will try to answer your question..
I keep it in the Factory Hard case that holds it (broken down), the M6 SS scope and misc.
    The factory case measures 12" X 21".
If you leave the hinge pin in and fold until trigger guard contacts the barrel, the overall measurement is 20" X 10 3/4".
    Break it down:
    The stock/trigger section measures 16" X 5", and the barrel w/sights-19" X 2 1/2".
Now my Number one problem is: Dangit, I couldn't find Alice and couldn't measure her "rucksack".
    Later--Maybe Alice will Respond.
