This might answer your question... None of the barrels have the same part numbers. I haven't ever heard anyone say they'd interchange, but I honestly do not know...

    1) No.
    2) Yes, but still refer to #1.

I didn't want to ask "him".
You know how it is when he's right.
    It goes to his "head".
Just kidding, I actually never gave it a thought-- I will be over there tomorrow to pick up a couple "packages" and I'll ask him.
Regarding the replies here--I'm glad I didn't use "Ask the Novices" or worse yet "Ask the Uninformed" forums.

Sometimes a little help is better than none at all. I often overlook the most obvious sources for the answer.

    Well, I took Duckhunter's advice.
    And here's what "Hogie" said:
    1. Yes
    2. No, but still refer to #1.
Is this one of those it's "deja vu all over again"?
Actually as he explain it, yes 77//22 barrel "would" fit, if one would machine turn the chamber portion-that fits inside the receiver to the size of the smaller 10/22 receiver.
So, in effect........a 77/22 barrel could be "made" to fit the 10/22, never to fit a 77/22 again.
Whereas, the 10/22 could not and would not fit the larger 77/22 receiver.
AND in the mean time, I picked up a new Browning Hi-Power and Target 10/22 heavy barrel...."trip not wasted".
Duckhunter, we'll never live this one down, with Hogie!

We'll I learned something new today as well. I've never needed to know that, but I'll store it in my "useless memory" area until I need it (in which case it'll become useful memory again). [;)]
