Sweet 16 v.s. A-5 16ga. - DIFFERENCES?

Can anyone tell me how a "sweet 16" differs from the regular Browning A-5 16ga., other than having a gold trigger? Would the barrel be the same for both? Thanks for all replies! Mark

  Mark, the Sweet 16 is marked as such on the receiver. I believe the sweet 16 is the lightweight and the standard 16 is the regular weight. I do believe the barrels will interchange.

  The sweet 16 is an A5 with a bit more polish.
  They are a lighter weight version and the trigger is, or should be, a bit crisper and the action somewhat smoother. Parts do inter-change
  between the sweet 16 and the standard A-5 in 16 gauge, There is a few differences in some parts, I will have to consult my books to refresh
  my memory, and production dates do figure into this. Early and Late production models have some fit and tolerence differences as well.

  Think of it this way... A Sweet 16 is a graded gun. Not much of a step over the plain A-5, but enough to command a 50% premium. Other than that they're the same as far as mechanicals.
