Browning hi power GP Competition test
Anyone know where I can get a field test on the GP Competition model? Thanks!

Your request isn't clear? The Browning G P Comp hasn't been produced and sold on a commercial basis, for 15 years or more. It's sought after now as a collectors item, rather then a shooter. When they come up for sale on the auctions the going price is usually between $800 and $1000. I haven't seen any shooting info in the gun rags for years ( Late 80's?) regarding them. 0 -

Little bit of kidding, but they are truly a "competition" 9mm, if there's ever been one.
I have a NIB from 1981 (1st Model w/black factory hard case), that I bought in 1981.
Shortly after I bought it, I began to see how scarce they were and are. So when I found the next one (minus case), I was glad it had been shot and showed a little wear, so I wasn't afraid to shoot it (even was lucky enough to find a factory black hard case in Tulsa last fall, for it)and leave the new one in it's little corner of the vault.
In some of the Hi-Power books, such as Blake Steven's-there will be reference to the GP-but I don't know if I've ever seen a published "Test", per se.
It certainly doesn't do the pistol "justice" with me as the shooter, because it's definitely capable of more as a pistol, than I am as the shooter.
I've always found it interesting and somewhat ironic that, even though the Herstal plant is in Belgium; the language in that surrounding area is "French".
And what does the GP stand for? Grand Puissance, which in French means High Power!!!!!!!
So A Hi-Power GP Competition is a little repetitive in that: it's actually saying High Power, Hi-Power Competition.
I do have another (extra) 99% GP, but I have a "verbal" sale on it from a friend and fellow Browning Collector.
But, you might email me and if something falls through........It will be for sale again.
Just don't put any stock in what the Blue Book says about GP's.
I've explained to Steve Fjestad that his information is not even close to fact, when you look for the GP. I had provided the correct information regarding the GP, for the newest Blue Book, but the same old incorrect information accidently got printed again-according to Steve.
