Stroebel's book, notes that the 8x scope that Winchester introduced in 1939 specifically for the Model 75 target rifle "is unmarked except for an 8x on the objective bell" also "the stamped sheet-metal mounts are marked Winchester". No other scope is mentioned by either Lyman or any other manufacturer in regard to the Model 75.

Thanks rufe-snow. What is the title of Stroebel's book? Do you know of any illustrations of the 75 as it was sold published?

"Old Rifle Scopes" by Nick Stroebel, published by Krause Publications. Krause has a web-site, that the book can be ordered from.
The "Standard Catalog Of Firearms" 6th Edition, has a picture of the Model 75 Sporter. You might try to get some of the old "Shooters Bibles" from the 30's (reprinted editions), they would probably have some pictures of the 75.

Sir, I think the earlier Gun digests of the late 40's and early 50's might also have an illustration.
