Marlin Camp 45 Price? User comments?
What is a realistic price for a Marlin Camp 45 in 95% condition? The one on auction here is surely not an indicator.I have one spotted at local pawn shop.Any opinions on this weapon? Accuracy?Good,bad,indifferent?Thanks.

We see them being offered at $550 but rarely see them sell. They do seem to sell reliably at $450, though. Folks like to dress 'em up, I guess.
I'm not a fan, personally. Not especially accurate, not that many accessories out there. Looks like an overgrown Glenfield Model 60.

Have owned one since they came out. Believe price was about $195.00
or so then. I had many offers up to over $400 but wouldnt let it go.
Accuracicy is what one would expect from a short barrel carbine, but
feeds and fires anything perfectly. The tiny mag release was replaced
with a overszied mag release button I machined. It ejects empties
about 20 feet away. Makes picking up brass difficult. I have fired
over 2,000 rds thru it and love it for plinking. A target gun, it aint, but a fun gun or defence gun, it sure is. And in .45 ACP it
sure gets attention. Any .45 1911 type mag fits it, but I prefer
the 10 rd mags. (+1). Really cant figure the asking prices though.0 -
They are much less commonly seen for sale than the 9mm Camp Gun, and of course, 45 ammo costs 50% more than 9mm ammo, too. In a carbine barrel, you can get the 160 gr .45 jhps going fast enough to actually expand reliably (ie, 1300+ fps) so it CAN have a fair amount of power. Unless I was going to suppress it, tho, I'd stick with the 9mm version, if I bothered with one at all. The pistol caliber uppers for the AR make more sense, really, except perhaps for a cache gun, or for use by the novice gunowner, as a "home defense"gun. 0 -

I have a .45 camp carbine in beautiful condition that I have put maybe 1000 rounds thru it. I have enjoyed shooting it, also have a 28 round pre ban drum that draws a little attention at the range. The going price for one here in Central Texas is $400 to $500 with the factory magazine. CDNN has some 10 round .45 magazines that they were selling with the 1927 Colts that also work well in the little bugger[:)]If you like close range carbine shooting you will love this gun. 0 -

Wolff Springs makes atleast two stronger recoil springs for the Camp 9/45. One is 50% stronger, the other is twice as strong. I've got them for my Camp 9, but haven't installed them...yet.0 -
u think THAT'S bad, try an HK 308 auto M91 sometime. Without the rubber buffer mounted on the side of the gun, the brass goes 40ft, and has such a big ding in the side of it that it's ruined for reloading. Yes ,it IS reloadable, with just the noted HK grooves in the case, from the same in chamber walls. 0 -
Thanks for all the feedback.Believe I can get for around $300-325.I am left handed and believe it will make a dandy little truck gun for a mini-truck.Also like the versatility of mags to 1911.Any ideas on hi-cap?

Once had a guy tell me that the Marlin's recoil spring guides were plastic,and easily broken. Might want to have some metal ones made, or at least, check the condition of the plastic ones frequently. 0 -
I see that sheep dip has two more postings on this subject. Who is sheep dip "SNUFF" [^]You can tell by the number of postings how alone in this world that the worthless sh-t is.
