chekcing barrel on used rifle

I am looking at a 22-250 used rifle in a gun store. It appears to be in good shape and the barrel appears clean. However, I am concerned that the barrel may be "burned out" from excessive shooting. Is there any way or test that I can do in the store to check this out?

  As long as the store has a borescope, they can do it quite quickly.
  
  why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....
