S&W 29 date of mfg?

Just bought a 6" blue magnaported 29 and would like to know the year of mfg. on the frame ADY8632 mod 29-3. On the crane 12723 under that number is B8. Thanks! Harry

  My 29-2 was 1978 and manufactured till 1980

  Saxon Pig got it right. According to Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, the model 29 with the sn you gave would have been mfd in 1984.
