    What you have is an inexpensive utility scattergun. If in good mechanical condition the gun is safe and reliable.

    And now the bad news... You'll see these guns at shows with price tags in the $125.00 range, but they don't sell. Not only don't they sell at that price, but they don't move very well at even half that!

    Not to be insulting, but I give the value at $35.00 as that's about all a dealer will part with IF you can get an offer.

    Just a bit of history....

    Forehand & Wadsworth was established in Worcester, Mass. in 1871 and operated under that name until 1890 when it became the Forehand Arms Co. Hopkins & Allen purchased the company in 1902.

    H & A only continued to use the "Forehand" name for a few years, so your shotgun was probably made between 1902 and about 1907.

    Your gun was probably made for blackpowder, and would not be safe shooting modern loads......but check it out with a gunsmith to be sure.
