Need info on Vintage .22 scope

I have a very old scope that looks like it is for a .22 rifle. The scope body is steel and has the following marks: J.C. HIGGINS, 4X, PATD, MFD. BY W.R. WEAVER CO., ELPASO TEX. U.S.A. It is on a steel side mount that is only marked N5. Does anyone know what this scope was for and when it was made?

  The J.C. Higgins indicates That it was made for Sears Roebuck, by Weaver. Weaver scopes were made in El Paso until 1984. None of the Weaver models sold under the Weaver name was designated N5. It could be the B-4 or J-4 both of which were made from the late 40's into the 60's. Value is likely to be in the under $50 range.
  
  To narrow the models down, we would need more information, length, diameter of scope body, diameter of objective, configuration of turet caps etc.

  yep! had one i took it off and gave it to the kids to play with that was the only way i could keep them from killing the birds they couldn't hit them.

  N-4 is the MOUNT designation.
