Can you tell the issue of my Colt Officers Target Mdl
By Ser # 4575xx

  Well, we are assuming that the gun is other than .22 caliber since they had their own serial number range that did not make it into six digits. The centerfire Officers Model revolvers were numbered consecutively from the old Army Special guns, and that serial number would indicate late 1920 manufacture. Some folks call that 'Second Issue.'

  Thanks for the replies. It is 38 Spl.
