Age of M1 Garand?
I have an M1 Garand Springfield with the serial number 182147 will one of you military weapons folks please tell me what year this weapon was made. Thanks so much.[:D]

The date should be on the barrel behind the front sight.

Sorry Buffler, but you're thinking of M1 carbines; the barrel date on M1 rifles is usually on the right side of the barrel, visible when the op rod is back.
In either case, that date is the date that the BARREL was made, not the receiver.

I would be inclined to believe the "born on date" for the commissioners M1 is very late January, 1941. SA made just under 14,500 rifles that month and his was amoung the last 1500 produced. Remeber that this is the date the receiver was serial numbered, the rifle may not have been assembled for another day or two.

I got news for you. I can return the next DAY after a banning. That's always been true, EVERYWHERE. I have access to MANY ISP'S and of course, to free proxy servers, which give your host a DIFFERENT isp EVERY time that I log on. Nothing special about this or any other place.
