I have a 3-9 compact on my AR-15, not the clearest,(most of my other scopes are Leopold), but it holds its zero and is very dependable so far.

i would roll up a few tubes of quarters and purchase a better scope. if push comes to shove, purchase a good quality used one. the 22-250 deserves it!!! you get what you pay for.

Thanks guys NCSTAR prices seemed to good to be true. I should know you get whwt you pay for. Guess I better save a little longer and get something better. Midway has a Bushnell Banner 6-18x50 on sale for $110.00. Any pro or con on these?[:)]

Bushnell scopes are decent and reliable for their price range. It is often hard to beat the prices of the large dealers' sales, but take a look at www.bearbasin.com for everyday prices as good as I can find. You are correct, in optics especially, you get what you pay for, and saving a bit longer is worth it in the long run.

hedog is correct, bearbasin has best prices and service. i purchased from them last month...very satisfied. would you be willing to dump the bushnell idea and look into a tasco 416? i think its a step up from the bushnell.
