I just happen to have a guy shooting a brand new Dan Wessen 1911 beside me yesterday at the range. It grouped quite well, 2in at 25yd from sand bag rest and had no malfunctions.

I didn't shoot it but I was allowed to drool over it. Appeared to be a well built gun. Definitely worth a look, maybe some drool[:D]

  I can't speak for the newer ones but in law enforcement acadamy in 1981 they were disscouraged. Shooting rapid fire they would either lock up or roll by a round. We had one officer that could not complete the course with his dan wesson and had to borrow a gun to get through the day. Hopefully that has all changed. Hope this helps.I wouldn't want a pistol that might fail me in an emergency. Wade

  Uh, he's talking about the new 1911 autoloader, not the old revolver.
