Burris vs. Bushnell 3200
Need some advice. I just purchase a Savage 10FP-LE1 in .308. I want to put a decent but still affordable scope on this rifle. I am looking at a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40 (ballistic plex) and a Bushnell 3200 fixed 10x40 scope with target/tactical knobs. Both of these scopes are the same price. $189.95. Which do you think are the better scope? Thanks for all your advice! I am learning so much from reading these posts!

thanks to groundhog devestation, i purchased a burris signature series scope. i absolutely love this scope, i sleep with it, buy it dinner, take it out for ice cream, oh... i also hunt with it. 0 -
I know the feeling, I have a Burris Black Diamond on a .243 Remington 700 VLS and I love it!! I don't know much about the Bushnell Elite's. Looks like it would be a decent scope for the Savage rifle. I hate being torn between two choices!

The bushnell elites are heralded by a many a long range shooter as one of the better quality lenses and adjustment systems. I own the Burris signature series tube in 4-16 and can tell you that it is one fine piece of equipment.
Another scope getting high marks is the Weaver grand slam series. I checked one out after reading the glowing reviews, and was impressed with the quality of the adjustments.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

My buddy just bought a Nikon 3-9X40mm for his .270 it is in that price range (less than $200) and seems to be a great scope. Just a thought.

If you can live with the fixed focus, you will likely get a more reliable (less to go wrong) scope in the Bushnell. That said, I would encourage you to save your nickles and hold out for the Burris Signature series. For price comparisons take a look at www.bearbasin.com a fine place to do business. 0 -
I have a Signature 6 to 24 with AO, Great scope, all so have B&L 3to 9 on 2 rifles, their good to. have a 3200 on a 7mm-08 and a 4200 on a 300 win mag, and have shot a lot and the scopes are still good I LIKE THEM. 0 -

Burris, Simmons, Shepherd, Leupold, heck even Tasco makes a better scope!
If you're into CHEAP scopes (I won't comment on the rifle you chose, or its' puny caliber), under $300 is where you should focus your attention. Just remember; when that "inexpensive" scope you bought is too fogged up or got knocked out of adjustment just as ol' mossyhorns wanders past, there's no words to describe what you will think.[V]

Thanks to everyone for their feedback. Sorry my choice in rifle/caliber doesn't meet your standards gunnut505. I have my Leupolds and Burris's, just don't need that on this gun. Bought this gun to fill a need, no more, no less.

I like burris but bushnell is good pick the one that is clearest to you.THE WAY I CHECK THEM IS BY PUTTING THEM ON A MAGNUM AIR RIFLE TO SEE IF THEY HOLD UP. SIMMON,TASCO,BSA WENT BACK TO THE STORE.IF THEY STAY ON TARGET AND THE CROSSHAIRS DON'T BREAK THEY ARE GOOD.YOU SHOULD ALSO CONSIDER REDFIELD.
ITS THE MAN BEHIND THE HARDWARE THAT COUNTS.
