In looking for a mount for my Czech/98 Mauser - Midway lists two different mounts one for a Mauser 98 and one for a Mauser 98 FN. What is the difference between these two models?

You'll want to order the one for the straight '98 Mauser. There are slight dimensional differences in the receiver contours/shapes between the Mauser and FN '98s; although if your scope has enough internal adjustments either will work.

Thanks for the advice - I ordered the one you recommended from Midway.

The FN Mauser action is a commercial action produced in Belguim by Fabrique National. They were used on many commercial rifles such as my Harrington & Richardson. Many of the 98's were reconditioned and used on commercial rifles after the war (into the 70's at least)as well.
