The Remingtons are pretty, like the original Creedmoors, but do not have "set" triggers, I shoot Shilohs and C.Sharps, and have shot the Pedersolis, I like all of these, you can get a model 74 Shiloh or C.Sharps used with sights on the auction sites for far less than new, I have a friend that won a C.Sharps Hi-Wall w/ MVA sites for under $2,000

Browning has (had?) an excellent BPCR; I have one in .45-90 and it has a Badger barrel. I understand that these are no longer being made but you may be able to find a new or used rifle in 45-70 or 45-90. These come with a very good tang vernier sight and front globe with level and windage for a lot less than either a Shiloh (which I also have) or C. Sharps. The Pedersoli is a very good rifle for the price and you can add after market sights and have an inexpensive BPCR. I have one of the first 40-65 cal. rifles imported by Dixie Gun Works; it is a plain rifle but well made and shoots better than I can hold. Emery
