colt 38 DA
I've got my Grandpa's 38. It's nickel plated. I've looked it up and it says some were nickel. My problem is the trigger, hammer, cylinder release and colt emblem on the grips are gold plated. What do you think the value of the pistol is. I don't think it came from colt gold plated. Thanks. Sam.[img][/img]

I HAVE A COLT 38 DA PISTOL SERIAL #155065 THAT IS IN PRETTY GOOD CONDITION. IT DOES HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE FIRING MECHANISM BUT I BELIEVE THAT IT CAN BE REPAIRED. CAN YOU GIVE ME AN IDEA WHEN IT WAS MADE AND APROX. VALUE? 0 -
Any markings on the barrel to suggest which model? Is DA 38 all it says?

If it is a model 1892 38 long Colt. The serial number puts it in 1901. I have one that was made in 1905. The dead givaway on these guns is that the cylinder rotates counter clockwise unlike ever other Colt revolver. Price will depend on condition. I purchased the one I have out of a junk box for $25 and It is in working condition. Normally if it is marked 38 DA, it is a 38 Long Colt. 0
