Steyr AUG -SA value
What is a good starting asking price to ask for at an auction of a Steyr AUG-SA Semi-Auto rifle? Should it be sold with the 3-40 round mags or should they be sold separate? Gun has a heavy 16" barrel, folding bipod and a 1.5X scope?

Send the fifle to me and I will give it a good onvce over and then let you know a good asking price. [8D] OK Now we all know thats not going to fly. Sell the rifle with one mag and let the high bidder know that you are willing to sell the others. The rifle will sell with out the extra mags and the mags are going for a high price.As for a good starting price. Good question. It is going to be high. Some one who knows AUG's more than I will have to answer that question. Good Luck. This is one BullPup I wanted to own but could never justify the cost. Silly me.

Lots of info needed! condition, condition, condition ... folding bipod? what kind and did it scar up the finish on the barrel ... need more info ... do you have the factory box, cleaning kit, muzzel cap, owners manual, sling & factory target? ... numbers match on barrel, bolt carrier and receiver? Black or Green? 16" Barrel original or cut down?
If you have an original Black 16" NIB or LNIB with no ejection scars and all the factory goodies you could easily be looking at $4000-$4500+ ... on the other hand, if you have a green stocked 20" barrel cut down to 16" or a mis-matched, well "used" shooter ... $1800-$2000 would be more realistic ... At any rate your probably some place in between and AUG buyers can be pretty picky because even a shooter aint cheap!

I just had another thought ... if you are measuring your barrel from the end of the receiver and getting 16", and it looks like my top one, what you have is actually a 24" HBAR (barrels are measured with the bolt closed from the bolt face to the end of the barrel). These barrels alone retail for $1300 but recently have been selling for around $900 ... if the all the numbers match on it you have a very rare piece indeed. The bottom one has a 16" barrel ...

I agree completely with Kimber. What kind of condition is this rifle in? If it has the 16" barrel I would like see the shipping box to be convinced that the rifle is in its original configuration. If it has a black stock and a 16" then the box and only the box will convince me that the rifle left the factory that way- these are very rare. About $3500 would be a dealer price on a 16" black stocked AUG in nice shape, closer to $4000 for a NIB example. Retail would be more of course, but your market at that price level tends to be limited to dealers or SERIOUS collectors who will want to know everything there is to know about the rifle. The bi-pod and 16" barrel seems like a highly unusual combination of features. Collectors love this...but will ask lots of questions about them!
