Remington 700 PSS
Hey guy's I've been looking at getting a PSS, and I asked my local gun shop if they could get a price for me, but they're saying they can't find these rifles in their machines... I know they still make the 700 but do they still make the PSS? also is the PSS the same as the 700P as both are police rifles, just wo ndering if the P and PSS are one and the same. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I can't find this gun listed anywhere on Remington's site. I know they've been around for a little while. Do they still sell them? If so, am I just overlooking it?
I had my sights set on the Sendero, what are the main differences between it and the PSS? I think they are both fully bedded heavy-barrelled guns, and the PSS has two front swivel studs... What else?
What's the difference in price?

That is the difference. The stock is all black, and has an extra swivel stud. The LTR has a 20" barrel and 3 flat flutes in either 223 or 308. Other than that, they are a VS rifle. I do beleive that the LEO PSS version comes without the j-lock, but brownells sells the replacement bolt shroud without the j-lock in it, so you can replace it on any 700 rem.
I had the gunsmith stone mine down so that it made no contact with the firing pin, and therefore does not extend lock time, which is critical to long range accuracy. he stated it will still work, but by knocking a couple thousandths off it, it won't "drag" the firing pin and create the inconsistent lock times.
I think that maybe the PSS is now under the law enforcement section of the site. The used market or a wholesaler who has them in stock is the way to get one now. I could be wrong, but seem to remember hearing that.
I beleive that the price difference is only about $50 in the wholesale catalogs.
why chase the game when the bullet can get em from here?....

I have a left-handed M700 Varmint Synthetic in .308 with a 26-inch heavy barrel, and the rate-of-twist is 1-12. Doesn't the PSS have a 24-inch barrel?
