In general maintenance this operation is better left alone and I wonder why you would want to remove the gas tube? You first need to remove the handgaurds. Now lay the rifle on its side and rest the front sight assembly on a block with an opening somewhere inside it (a hollowed cavity is best). You'll also need a 5/64" pin punch and a small hammer. If you look at the front sight assembly you will see a small roll pin at the base of the sight "triangle". This pin retains the gas tube. Punch out the pin so it drops into the cavity in your block- don't lose it- and then slide the tube back into the receiver to clear the sight assembly. Now lift the tube slightly, pull foreward and remove. Be VERY careful as the tube is rather delicate and if you kink or bend it you have disabled your rifle until the tube can be replaced. Good luck.
